PROSTHETICS

Experiencing limb loss can be a deeply emotional and challenging journey. Feelings of helplessness, fear, anger, and the worry of not being able to lead a "normal" life are common reactions. It's important to know that these emotions are entirely normal. Being an amputee does not signify the end of a fulfilling and productive life. You can overcome these challenges, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

At Kootenai Prosthetics & Orthotics, our practitioners focus on your abilities, not limitations. Our primary objective is to provide you with a prosthesis that empowers you to work, live, and play as actively as you did before your amputation.

Our patients encompass a diverse range, from children to senior citizens, athletes, and individuals with unique physical circumstances and personal aspirations. Our greatest satisfaction lies in witnessing our patients regain confidence, comfort, and complete control in their mobility. In many instances, we are privileged to witness our patients skiing down mountains, crossing lakes, riding horses or bicycles, and returning to work in fields and forests.

At KPO, we firmly believe that exceptional techniques lead to exceptional results. We leverage the latest innovations in materials and componentry to craft and fit you with a carefully designed prosthesis. As we work with patients from post-operative care through fitting and lifelong adjustments, we cultivate lasting relationships with those we serve.

ON-SITE FABRICATION

At our on-site fabrication lab, we design and build over 95% of the prosthetic and orthotic products we provide our patients, giving Kootenai Prosthetics & Orthotics the ability to manage both process and quality, resulting in superior products.

Your KPO relationship may start with your practitioner, but you have another advocate behind the scenes: the P&O technician. With over 40 years combined experience, our techs have fabricated everything from simple carbon ankle-foot orthosis to suction suspension hip disarticulation prosthesis, each one carefully measured and modified.

Your body is distinct. Your goals are unique. Not only does your practitioner know this, so does the technician who will fabricate the prosthetic or orthotic device to get you up and moving. The KPO team is with you, every step of the way.
